As a Newbury Wedding Photographer I was surprised to be asked to shoot a wedding in Wookey Hole Caves! This was certainly a challenge, to capture a wedding in a big black cave!! Well it took two visits prior to the wedding once with the couple for a pre wedding shoot in the cave and another to make sure I was absolutely on top of the situation come the big day. Preparation is a big part of being successful and I put a good few miles and time in to make sure my couple would be delighted with my work. Below are a few shots from their wedding.

Newbury Wedding Photographer Proud of Hantsability

As a wedding photographer based near Newbury I am very proud to announce that the charity Hantsability that I am one of the founders of raised in excess of £6000 at our charity ball a couple of weeks ago. The money will go towards helping people with disabilities. It was such a fabulous night with 200 people attending. We are now busy planning events for 2012….watch this space :-)

Newbury Wedding Photographer Shooting In Wookey Hole!

Last week I traveled to Wookey Hole to assess the size of any potential problems from shooting a wedding in a cave! As a wedding Photographer servicing Newbury and the surrounding area it is not the usual environment I work in. But I will be covering a wedding there next year.

I observed another wedding taking place there and was amazed that the photographer hadn’t been to asses the situation prior to the event! Needless to say he struggled working in those conditions.

I came away with some great ideas and am confident of producing some wonderful images for my couple who will be having their wedding early next year.

As a wedding photographer servicing Newbury I am pleased to say I already have bookings coming in for 2013.

Couples are planning well ahead and the last two have booked me prior to booking their venue. There seems to be a problem with venues taking bookings for 2013. They don’t want to release prices yet so are not taking on the bookings?

Unlike some venues I am more than happy to discuss and take bookings for 2013.

Hantsability Now Has Charitable Status!

As a Wedding Photographer servicing Basingstoke, Newbury and surrounding areas I am delighted to be a trustee of Hantsability who raises funds for people with disabilities. Last week we officially became a charity after the long application process. We have so far raised in excess of £5000. We have an event at Halo Hair Design in Basingstoke on Monday 17th October 5.30 -9.30 There will be therapy sessions, demos, food, drink and music.

Our flagship event is The Masquerade Ball on the 18th November at Oakley Hall. A 3 course meal, live band, celebrity speakers all for only £45. For full details go to www.hampshireabll.co.uk

A very good thing happened to me yesterday whilst out celebrating an Anniversary with my better half.

We were dining at a very nice local inn enjoying the atmosphere and great food. It came to the end of the meal and I asked for the bill. As they presented me the bill the waiter placed a bottle of champagne on the table and said “with compliments of the management”

Now this was one of two things

1. I had told the Inn when booking the table that we were celebrating an anniversary – so this could have been just very good PR

2. As those of you who know me I am a lookie likie for Paul McKenna so they may have thought I was a celeb frequenting their establishment

Either way we were speechless and very grateful. I wont name the inn for fear of raising peoples expectations when going there to celebrate something but I will leave a wonderful testimonial on their website.
