Last week I traveled to Wookey Hole to assess the size of any potential problems from  shooting a wedding in a cave! As a wedding Photographer servicing Newbury and the surrounding area it is not the usual environment I work in. But I will be covering a wedding there next year.

I observed another wedding taking place there and was amazed that the photographer hadn’t been to asses the situation prior to the event! Needless to say he struggled working in those conditions.

I came away with some great ideas and am confident of producing some wonderful images for my couple who will be having their wedding early next year.

A very good thing happened to me yesterday whilst out celebrating an Anniversary with my better half.

We were dining at a very nice local inn enjoying the atmosphere and great food. It came to the end of the meal and I asked for the bill. As they presented me the bill the waiter placed a bottle of champagne on the table and said “with compliments of the management”

Now this was one of two things

1. I had told the Inn when booking the table that we were celebrating an anniversary – so this could have been just very good PR

or

2. As those of you who know me I am a lookie likie for Paul McKenna so  they may have thought I was a celeb frequenting their establishment

Either way we were speechless and very grateful. I wont name the inn for fear of raising peoples expectations when going there to celebrate something but I will leave a wonderful testimonial on their website.
